Job Description

The Tax Accountant will prepare and review income tax returns, estimated tax payments and tax projections for the company’s related partnerships and S corp entities. In addition, they will perform tax research and prepare tax memorandums. Video conferencing for the interview process and remote work to start.

Job Requirements

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Prepare federal and state income tax returns for partnerships and S corporations
  • Identify and calculate book to tax differences and prepare tax work-papers that document and support conclusions
  • Create and maintain organized electronic tax work paper files
  • Perform basic tax research and document conclusions in writing
  • Set up and maintain electronic member/shareholder basis schedules
  • Prepare and maintain electronic deferred tax inventory schedules
  • Prepare federal and state quarterly estimates and extensions
  • Research and draft responses to inquiries from state and local tax authorities
  • Assist with audit inquiry responses, as requested
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations, especially those relating to real estate industry and pass-through entities

 Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
  • CPA designation preferred
  • Minimum of one year of experience in the tax field, preferably with public accounting experience
  • Experience with pass-through entity taxation a plus
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organization skills, with ability to work independently to complete simultaneous projects by specific deadlines in an accurate and thorough manner
  • Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
